About

My family emigrated from China when I was eleven. I excelled in math and science, so I studied engineering and computer science in college. After working as an engineer for six years, I started to feel lost and discontent. Something was missing – I wanted more. So I embarked on a 15-year journey to learn how to live authentically, build meaningful relationships, and pursue work that motivates me every day.  During this time I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines, trained my mind to calm and focus during intensive silent retreats, practiced people and business skills as a management consultant (MBA) and an educator, and finally, learned the inner workings of the mind and its relation to behaviors through the study of psychology (Ph.D.). On this journey I have experienced self-doubt, loneliness, and depressed mood, as well as joy, exhilaration, and a deep sense of peace and gratitude.

As a psychologist, I can use my personal and clinical experience to help you access your innate wisdom and power, heal from past emotional wounds, and develop into the person you want to be.  The first step of a journey is often the most difficult.  I encourage you to get to know me through this website, and contact me for a free phone consultation.  May you find the guiding lights on your journey.
