Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or CBT) is the gold-standard for the treatment of persistent worrying and general stress.† It is based on the age-old principle that how we feel is driven by how we think.

Human are disturbed not by events, but by their interpretation of events. – Epictetus, Greek Stoic Philosopher.

CBT is an action-oriented and compassionate approach. With practice between sessions, most people will feel significantly better within 10-20 sessions. I take an adaptive, collaborative, and flexible approach to CBT, and you will be given an opportunity after each session to provide written feedback, so our work together is tailored to your preference and needs.

I have attended over a hundred hours of training under the supervision of David Burns, M.D., who is the Emeritus Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. I am a certified CBT therapist.
